JAZZ INTENSIVE.

Length: six months

From October to March. 312 hours theory/practice

From Monday to Thursday. End of course certificate

Intermediate level

An advanced course in this in-demand discipline. A semester designed for the intermediate level jazz dancer. It is necessary to have a well rooted base of classical dance and a knowledge of jazz. In addition this course will be complemented with a basic course in tap, a fundamental and essential discipline for musical theatre.

TOPICS

  • Ballet.
  • Horton technique: basic technique of jazz and modern dance.
  • Jazz: main subject of the itinerary that focuses on the two principal styles, musical theatre and lyrical jazz.
  • Tap. Basic course.
  • Additional master classes: afro, contemporary jazz and origin/history of jazz (theoretical).

OBJECTIVES

  • Take a closer look into this discipline professionally.
  • Work on strength, flexibility and power.
  • Work on speed, execution and clean technique.
  • Fundamental styles of jazz.
  • Understand jazz, where it comes from and its role in today’s world.
  • Maximize dancer’s rhythm and musicality.
